What makes variations confusing
Variations are usually short. They may describe new work without saying how it relates to what was already included, or whether anything has been removed.
Sometimes a variation appears to cover work that the original quote already mentions. Spotting that overlap means reading both documents carefully.
How the variation check works

A simple example
